Within the United States and abroad, there is an increasing momentum to modernize the graduate and postdoctoral training experience. My programs aim to provide career and professional development that is complementary to the participants research experience and long term career goals. A dual purpose of these programs is to demonstrate that graduate students and postdoctoral scholars are capable and competent scientific professionals, able to contribute to the scientific enterprise in a variety of meaningful ways.
